The prompt which led to this project was an assignment in a sewn construction class. The assignment called for a soft sculpture based on the shape of a cylinder which used a zipper. As an added challenge for myself I decided to make it entirely by hand using needle felting and hand stitching. It is modeled after Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber in the Star Wars franchise.
